MD F-4 Phantom

With over 4000 built, the Phantom was the Wests most important fighter through out the 1970's and into the 1980's. It served with many air forces, and continues in service even with the USAF (though mostly as target drones - QF-4's). It was a robust, powerful aircraft, that converted well to land use - having been originally developed for carrier operations. The museums aircraft is an F-4B. At the back of the museum lot is a pile of parts that I believe consist of two Pratt & Whitney J79 engines, that were once fitted to Phantoms.
