Alistair Maclean's Web Site

I was born in Scotland in the last century, (Isn't that a terrible sounding thing!) just to the south of the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond. I am of the Clan Maclean, but nothing to do with the character in the movie "The Highlander", nor the writer. I have lived near London, but spent most of my formative years in Lincolnshire in England.

Without getting too politically hot under the collar, I left England in the late 80's with Maggie Thatcher in power and moved to America. I met my wife here and we live happily in the shadow of New York City.

The Clan Maclean has a web site, I even get a mention, so to serve justice click the crest below to enjoy the wonders of Duart and the Maclean's.

Trip to my origins

In 2008 I made a trip to the the location that the Maclean side of my family considers it's ancestral home, the village of Achiltibuie, in north western Scotland. I took a little look at the village and a longer look at the graveyard.

Other personal whims

I have no fancy to be a writer, but as the whim takes me I scribble, so here are some stories and doodles. For other more combustable stuff see my opinions section.
